From HymnWiki
Definition
On HymnWiki, a hymnist is someone who does any of the following:
- writes hymn lyrics
- composes hymn tunes
- arranges hymns (music or lyrics)
- adapts hymns (music or lyrics)
- translates hymn lyrics
- things very similar to the above
Note that the Poets category is for all lyricists (whether or not they are musical), writers of hymns, songs and regular poetry.
See also Script Writers. Those who are script writers alone do not classify as hymnists here. Also see Publishing Companies.
