This is an outmoded acronym for Latter-day Saint, referring to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and/or its members. President Russell Marion Nelson, Sr. has asked[1] that this acronym not be used anymore (same for the terms 'Mormon church' and 'Mormon'). The full name should be used instead: i.e. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (in the first reference, and then certain other terms in subsequent references, such as 'the restored church', and 'the Church of Jesus Christ'). Note that 'Latter-day Saint' is also no longer used (one should say, 'member(s) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints').
