Lyrics from A Collection of Sacred Hymns for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Europe, 1840

Hymn 152
L.M.
1. Do we not know that solemn word,
That we are buried with the Lord,
Baptised into his death, and then
Put off the body of our sin?

2. Our souls receive diviner breath,
Raised from corruption, guilt, and death;
So from the grave did Christ arise,
And lives to God above the skies.

3. No more let sin or Satan reign
Over our ransomed souls again;
The hateful lusts we served before
Shall have dominion now no more.
