Thomas Hastings

Born in Connecticut, 1784; died in New York, 1872. An associate of Lowell Mason, who collaborated on his Spiritual Songs for Social Worship, 1831. Hastings was a prolific hymnist, writing hundreds of lyrics as well as an even greater number of tunes.
