Lyrics from Jubelklangen, 1896, no. 167

1. Dyre Jesus, låt oss hvila Våra hjertan vid ditt ord.
Mätta våra tomma själar Utaf nådens rika bord.
Låt oss nu i stillhet höra Hvad vår själ kan saliggöra,
Låt ej satan oss förstöra Under lifvets pröfvotid.

2. Sjelf, o Herre, du oss sade: “Bedjen, och I skolen få.”
Derför komma vi nu åter Att af dig mer kraft undfå.
Må du med din nåd oss lifva, Mer utaf din ande gifva,
Hjelp oss att i tron förblifva Under lifvets pröfvotid.

3. O du vet, hvad vi behöfva, Evigt gode frälsare.
Lys oss då på denna stunden Med ditt hulda anlete.
Låt oss dig få se och smaka, Öfver våra själar vaka,
Låt ej någon bli tillbaka Under lifvets pröfvotid.

4. Under dina vingars skugga Äro vi i godt förvar.
Jord och himmel skola vika, Dina löften stå dock qvar.
Du vill oss i famnen bära, Mer utaf ditt ord oss lära,
Flytta oss till evig ära Efter lifvets pröfvotid.

1. Beloved Jesus, may your word bring comfort to our hearts.
Feed and satisfy our empty souls from the rich table of your mercy.
Let us now in quietude hear what can give our souls bliss.
Do not let Satan destroy us during life's trials.

2. Lord, you yourself said to us: 'Ask, and you will receive.'
Therefore we come again to draw more strength from you.
Inspire us with your grace, give us more of your spirit,
Help us to keep our faith during life's trials.

3. You know our needs, eternally good redeemer,
Shine upon us in this hour with your kind countenance,
Let us see and taste you; watch over our souls,
Let no one be left behind during life's trials.

4. Under the shelter of your wings we are well protected.
Earth and Heaven will pass away, but your promises will remain.
You will bear us in your arms, teach us more of your word
And bring us to eternal glory after life's trials.
