The Song of Miriam is a victory song composed by Miriam, the older sister of Moses, on the occasion of the destruction of Pharaoh's army in the Red Sea (Exodus 15:21). The lyric is short and pointed: Sing ye to the LORD, for He is highly exalted: the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.
