The exact tune associated with this name has not been verified, as some sources[1] claim this name belongs to a tune that most other sources call Man of Grief[2] - that is the tune used with A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief in the current (1985) LDS hymnal. For the purposes of this site, however, we shall call the one used in the 1985 LDS hymnal Man of Grief, and the other one Duane Street. George Coles composed both tunes. Oddly enough, both tunes have been used with A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief[3].
Alternate Names
- Wanderer[4]
Associated Lyrics
- A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief
- Jesus and Shall It Ever Be
- Hail, Sovereign Love - this only fits if an even number of stanzas is used, and thus the eighth stanza is commonly omitted with this tune (this information comes from the Cyberhymnal)
