Gordon is a tune composed by American Baptist composer Adoniram Judson Gordon, for whom it is named. The tune was composed for the lyrics My Jesus, I Love Thee, a poem written by the Canadian Methodist William Ralph Featherston. It soon became (after its publication in 1874), and has remained, the customary tune for that text. Its form is four lines of eleven syllables each.
