**This hymn is erroneously attributed to at least three individuals: Bishop [[Richard Mant]] (1776–1848)<ref>[http://www.hymnary.org/text/praise_the_lord_ye_heavens_adore_him hymnary.org page]</ref>, [[John Kempthorne]] (1775–1838) <ref>[http://books.google.com/books?id=nAktAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA616#v=onepage&q&f=false A dictionary of hymnology: setting forth the origin and history of Christian hymns of all ages and nations, 1892 (p. 616)]</ref>, 1810, and [[Thomas Coram]]<ref>[http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/p/t/pthelyeh.htm Cyberhymnal™ article]—Note that although it lists Coram as the lyricist, it explains that this is erroneous on the same page.</ref>. Note that it was not known to have been published in 1796, but rather is was inserted into a 1796 compilation (''Foundling Chapel Collection'', AKA ''Foundling Hospital Collection''), although it was certainly published soon afterward. It is also said to have come from one ''Dublin Collection'' and a ''Liverpool Collection'', although dates of publication need verification.
