About HymnWiki
HymnWiki is a site dedicated to hymns, children's songs (those associated with churches and religion), religious anthems, church music, other music commonly grouped with hymns, and compilations of such. HymnWiki aims to categorize most of the hymns in existence, as well as to host sheet music, MIDI files and lyrics for as many of these as legally possible. HymnWiki is for hymns of all faiths notwithstanding there is a large focus on the music and poetry of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, past, present and future. HymnWiki began in April of 2007. See About HymnWiki for more information. If you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and would like to use HymnWiki for church purposes, review the Helps for Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints first.
Announcements
- We have a new discussion board (which is also an alternative to the wiki here, for those who prefer a simpler, less formal, more interactive format): hymnwiki.growspice.com
- Note that it is part of a larger forum structure that does not pertain so much to hymns as it does to things like vegetable/herb gardening, cooking, farming, biology, wildlife, wild plants, etc.
- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that they are going to create a new hymnal and a new children's songbook. They're looking for voluntary feedback. These compilations are not expected to be published for some years.
- Terminology, article names, and links are still being updated to reflect President Russell M. Nelson's recent talk on the name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
